All photos are taken under Superbright 2000 SW or LW light with a Sony Mavica camera with an inferred light and zoom lens

 

#   .... Minerals Species:      TURNEAUREITE & DONPECORAITE

 

Location of Mineral Deposit:  2500' Level #4 Mine, Zinc Corporation of America, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York, USA. 

 

Description:   This specimen of Turneaureite that Fluoresces an Orange color under a Shortwave Ultra Violet Light is a rare arsenous apatite found only in 2 or 3 locations worldwide. The pod of material was emptied years ago. This Turneaurite in association with Donpecoraite that is a very rare. Turneaurite is found only in Langden, Sweden, New Jersey and in Gouverneur, New York.  The rare Donpecoraite is only found at the Z.C.A. #4 Mine in Gouverneur, N.Y.
