Minerals Species:    ADAMITE & Calcite on Limonite

Location of Mineral Deposit:   Level 6, of San Judas Dept. Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Mexico

Description:    These fine specimens have hundreds of lustrous green Adamite crystals that fluoresce a characteristic bright chartreuse green under a Shortwave Ultra Violet Light because of a small uranium content. There are also alot of tiny, NON-Fluorescent calcite crystals present. The Ojuela Mine, arguably the greatest locality in Mexican mineral history, is the world-leading source of adamite, legrandite, and possibly hemimorphite, the type locality for 5 minerals, and has produced at least 133 different species to date, including fine specimens of many other desirable species.
